Letter from the Editor
When you look at the snow-capped peaks on the cover of this issue, you can’t help but reflect on how quickly the year has flown by. Not long ago, we were preparing the first issue, unsure where to find materials, and today Travel + Leisure Central Asia brings together stories and people from five countries across the region, and I have authors, photographers, and information centers from many countries “just a call away.” This year has been a time of discoveries, inspiration, and new routes.

I was invited to lead the editorial team of Travel + Leisure Central Asia, and I’m grateful for the opportunity, as I love telling stories that inspire travel and spark curiosity about the world around us. To travel is to feel life in all its fullness.

This year, fate itself seemed to pave my way: Eastern Kazakhstan with its Altai Mountains, the Zailiyskiy Alatau in the Almaty region, Tajikistan’s Gissar Valley, and the Ala-Archa Nature Reserve in Kyrgyzstan—on these trips, I witnessed how Central Asia is gradually emerging as a hub for tourism. Resorts are taking shape here that may soon rival those in the Alps.
Hungry for new impressions, I barely sleep while traveling. At night, I write articles, in the morning, I rush to the sea or the pool, and during the day, I explore the sights. My constant companion on the road is my laptop. This is how issues come to life, where every trip turns into a story.
In the new year, other roads and peaks await. I don’t know where fate will take me next, but I’m certain: what matters most is not where we’re headed, but what we feel when we return home.
And every journey, after all, begins not with the road itself, but with an inner impulse.
