Uzbekistan’s Agency for Cultural Heritage has launched a new digital platform offering virtual tours of museums across the country.

The portal brings together state museums and museum-reserves from different regions, allowing visitors to explore exhibitions online from anywhere in the world. Designed to create a true sense of presence, the project lets users “walk” through museum halls, view historical artifacts up close, and learn the stories behind them.

At launch, the platform features more than 20 of Uzbekistan’s largest museums. Conceived as a modern tool for sharing the country’s rich history, the portal is aimed both at younger audiences and international travelers seeking a quick yet immersive introduction to Uzbekistan’s cultural landscape. The project is set to expand, with plans to add more museums and enrich exhibitions with text and audio content.

Ultimately, the virtual format is not meant to replace in-person visits, but to serve as an invitation – sparking curiosity and encouraging travelers to experience Uzbekistan’s museums firsthand.
