Two Astana-based restaurants — Qazaq Gourmet and Selfie — earned places in the prestigious La Liste 2026, an annual ranking of the world’s 1,000 best restaurants.
In the latest results, Qazaq Gourmet scored 75.5 points, while Selfie earned 75 points.
The Taste of Contemporary Kazakh Cuisine
During the ceremony in Paris, leading chefs and gastronomic critics explored contemporary Kazakh cuisine firsthand. The Qazaq Gourmet team, led by head chef Artyom Kantsev, curated and presented the tasting menu.
Particular interest was sparked by:
- Camel ham with persimmon;
- Qazy with truffle;
- Shu with meat pâté and kaymak.
International experts praised these combinations as a gastronomic discovery and highlighted them as a strong example of how local cuisine can integrate naturally into the world of global fine dining.
The La Liste Gastronomic Ranking
La Liste is considered one of the world’s most authoritative gastronomic rankings. The project is based on a unique algorithm that aggregates data from more than 1,000 expert sources, international culinary guides, and millions of guest reviews worldwide.
The 10th anniversary La Liste ceremony took place in France and brought together leading chefs, restaurateurs, and gastronomic critics from 200 countries.
