The initiative focuses on sustainable tourism and infrastructure renewal, with a strong emphasis on preserving nature and cultural heritage.

Omonkhona’s selection was far from accidental. The settlement is located in the mountains of Surxondaryo Region and has long been known as a health and wellness destination. Juniper groves, clean mountain air, and natural springs all contribute to its therapeutic appeal.

The village is home to a sanatorium that can accommodate up to 160 guests. Its treatment programs are based on mineral water and the region’s natural healing factors.

One of the area’s most remarkable natural features is a cave with an unusual temperature regime: it stays cool in summer and warm in winter. This phenomenon attracts not only tourists but also researchers.

Omonkhona also plays an important role as a place of pilgrimage. Nearby are the sacred sites of Kamari Aziz, Siddiq Sahobalari, Hazrati Sultan Valibalgardon, and Khujakuchkorota. Visitors come here seeking solitude and spiritual peace.

Today, more than 20 guesthouses operate in the village. Travelers can enjoy mountain hiking trails, guided excursions, and cultural programs. An information center assists with navigation and trip planning, while local cafés serve traditional Uzbek cuisine.

Omonkhona is emerging as a destination for those who value nature, health, and a slow, mindful pace of travel.
