Among the key artifacts is the skeleton of Stan, one of the world’s best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex specimens. The museum also displays a female blue whale – the largest animal in Earth’s history. The collection further includes the ancient Murchison meteorite, whose age predates that of the Solar System.
The building was designed by Mecanoo. Its form evokes a natural geological structure, with architecture that emphasizes the connection between humanity and nature.
The project is part of the Saadiyat cultural cluster, alongside Louvre Abu Dhabi and teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi.
