Muhammadjon Isomidinov, a scholar from the Samarkand Institute of Archaeology, has stated that the history of Samarkand may span more than 3,000 years.
This bold claim is based on recent excavations at Kuktepa. While studying the site, recent research has led scholars to tentatively date the origins of urban settlement in Samarkand to the 14th century BCE.
Since February of this year, archaeologists have been conducting investigations, and in this short time, they have already put forward a significant hypothesis. Excavations are ongoing not only at Kuktepa, but also at Afrosiab and Kuksaroy Square.
Details remain confidential for now, but it is possible that in the near future, we will witness a major discovery.
