According to the World Tourism Barometer published by UN Tourism, Uzbekistan ranked among the Top 7 countries worldwide for international tourism growth between January and September 2025. Compared to 2019, the number of international visitors increased by 73 percent.
A Year of Records and New Benchmarks
The year 2025 became a record-breaking one for Uzbekistan. In the first eleven months alone, the country welcomed more than 10.7 million international tourists. Starting in April, monthly arrivals consistently exceeded one million visitors for the first time in the country’s history.
Why Travelers Are Choosing Uzbekistan More Often
Uzbekistan’s growing appeal is driven by several key factors:
- The expansion and simplification of the visa regime,
- Improved transport accessibility and air connectivity,
- An active international marketing strategy.
At the same time, tourism infrastructure continues to develop. New hotels, tour operators, and trained professionals are entering the market, raising service standards and strengthening the country’s competitiveness as a travel destination.
Beyond the Classic Routes
Alongside iconic destinations such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, travelers are increasingly exploring new formats of travel. Eco-tourism and gastronomic experiences are becoming an important part of Uzbekistan’s tourism offering, reflecting the country’s focus on diversification and a modern approach to travel.
