The Museum of Arts is dedicated to the musical and ethnographic heritage of the Kazakh people.
The exhibition features rare national musical instruments, alongside related instruments of Turkic-speaking peoples. A separate section is devoted to a collection of traditional Kazakh headwear.
The museum is home to a research laboratory workshop named after organologist and ethnographer Bolat Sarybayev. The workshop provides dedicated facilities for artisans who craft traditional instruments. Equipped with modern technology, the space enables the precise reconstruction of the form and sound of instruments that have been lost over time.
The workshop focuses on reviving ancient instruments, many of which are now nearly forgotten. Historically, they were used in nomadic life and military campaigns, including for signaling. Visitors can observe the making process and learn about each instrument’s distinctive sound.
The museum’s spaces are animated by musical performances that reflect different themes and historical periods. The route continues with a collection of traditional Kazakh clothing and headwear, revealing the richness of the nation’s cultural heritage.
