The exhibition traces the country’s journey from ancient times to the present day. The museum features six permanent galleries spread across two floors, as well as dedicated spaces for temporary exhibitions. The display format combines historical artifacts with interactive elements.
The collection includes archaeological finds discovered across the UAE. Highlights range from an ancient natural pearl from Abu Dhabi to the Blue Qur’an, as well as a reconstruction of the Magan ship, reflecting the region’s maritime heritage.
The building was designed by the architectural firm Foster + Partners. Its sculptural form is inspired by the wing of a falcon in flight, referencing key cultural symbols of the country. The project incorporates principles of sustainable architecture.
Located in the Saadiyat Island, the museum offers a contemporary perspective on the history and cultural heritage of the UAE.
