Andijan Declared the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2026

Andijan is set to become a platform for large-scale cultural events bringing together the traditions and artistic heritage of the Turkic peoples.

The decision was made at the 42nd meeting of the TÜRKSOY Permanent Council.

Throughout the year, the city will serve as a point of attraction for artists, musicians, researchers, and travelers.

About TÜRKSOY

The International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY) often referred to as the UNESCO of the Turkic world, was established in 1993 following an agreement between the ministers of culture of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey.

Its mission is to promote cultural dialogue, strengthen unity among Turkic peoples, and present Turkic culture on the global stage.
